The following is general guidance for joining the Custodians Fencing club for the start of a new course.
To join the club, membership is by the way of a joining fee that incorporates the buying of a piece of protective clothing
called a plastron. This plastron will be yours to keep. You will then pay £2 per session at the reception of the Castle Sports
Complex where you will be issued with a receipt.
Prices start from £15 for juniors £19 for seniors. Payment is required in advance and preferably by cheque made payable
to the Custodians Fencing Club. This payment goes through the Clubs books and is easier to administer than cash. No profit
is made to the club, plastrons are bought at cost from suppliers.
At any time you feel fencing is not for you, the Club will offer to buy the plastron back off you, to sell on to the next
course. With this in mind if you are interested in a good second hand plastron rather than a new plastron, please ask for
availability.
You must register with me prior to turning up for the registration. As spaces are limited this will be recognised as your
act of commitment to joining the club at this time.
Junior members are taught on a continuous rolling
programme, not restricted to a six weeks course.
Parents / Guardians are welcome / encouraged to stay
and watch. There is a bar in the sports complex for those that do not wish to sit and watch the whole time. This is run by
J2 catering. www.j2catering.co.uk
Parents / Guardians are automatically registered as
associate members and are able to buy / wear Custodians Fencing Club Merchandise.
